Korea Trip: cafe SCOFF – Famous for Scones, Cheesecake, and Brownies
I've traveled to many countries, but I can confidently say that Korea has some of the best bread.
People usually think they must try Korean food when they visit Korea—and of course, they should—but I also want to introduce you to some trendy bakeries and cafes that Koreans are loving right now.
Most of Korea’s popular bakeries use high-quality ingredients.
Some even use Isigny butter, a famous French butter known for its rich flavor.
These bakeries create premium bread using great ingredients, and the prices are still quite reasonable for what you get.
Honestly, the quality of some bakeries here is on par with what you’d find in luxury hotel bakeries.
So yes—come with high expectations. You won’t be disappointed!
Today’s recommendation is a bakery called SCOFF.
It started in Seochon, Seoul, and now has several locations, including shops inside department stores—so you can probably find one near you.
Let me tell you where you can find SCOFF stores.
Two of their locations are in Seochon, near Gyeongbokgung Palace.
Seochon is actually a very trendy spot, even among locals.
Other locations include Buam-dong, Jamsil, Express Bus Terminal (Gangnam area), and Myeong-dong (inside Lotte Department Store).
As of April 2025, only the Seochon and Buam-dong locations show up on Google Maps, so keep that in mind when searching!

The SCOFF I visited was at Shinsegae Department Store in Gangnam.
I went close to closing time, so unfortunately, all the famous scones were already sold out.
There were only cakes and brownies left.
Everything here is made with 0% preservatives, so you need to keep them refrigerated—
though, let’s be honest, you’ll probably finish them right away anyway!
I got the cheesecake, two types of brownies, walnut pie, and chocolate cake—
and every single one of them was absolutely delicious.
If you love rich, buttery baked goods, I highly recommend visiting SCOFF.
It’s definitely worth a stop!
